I have yet to have flowers. It was growing up its hanging chain and into the rafters so in the interests of saving the house (!) I had to bring it down, remove the chain and repot it with a teepee make out of bamboo stakes in the large clay pot. I have since moved it to a morning sun position behind my gate to see if I can get it to bloom and have some questions. Can this be pruned? Will I sacrifice blooms if I do? I have seen discussions on whether it blooms on new or old wood, etc and have reached no conclusion. What is a peduncle? I will post another photo of a tiny stalk that may be a very young bloom stalk. Is this a peduncle? When will it bloom? Next spring? This year? When does a hoya grown outside normally bloom? Do they have lot of blooms or just a few? I read somewhere that you should not remove the old bloom stalks as they will bloom again next year. Any truth there? Anything else I should know? Thanks! What should I feed it to get it to bloom? |
