Edited to add, Lali is not a good friend to have. LOL. She brings out the worst in me, the give me give me, I NEED it mode. LOL. We are dangerous together. Of course she has acres and acres of land and I have a postage stamp. She has frost though and I have little. Everything is a trade off in life.

I am sorry, I didn't mean to pass over a big WELCOME to Kimmy to our brug world here. I hope you stay with us Kimmy and fall in love with all our brugs. We have a lot of fun here. Brugs are fun to grow and very rewarding with their huge blooms. A gaud flower for sure.

And I am sorry Sherry, I was thinking earlier someoen had asked me about clivia and I thought it was a dmail. LOL. Then I found it here and it was you! LOL. I am new to clivia and just learning though I have quite a collection already. Another Daver got me going on them. Good friends have undue influence. They wear you down with all their pictures and their exclamations of true love. I am so easy and get sucked right in.

Then I went to greenhouses here that house some of the best clivia in the world by one of the best known hybrirdizers and it sealed the deal. His clivia go for $200 on up to over $1000. I went nuts looking. Such big eyes I got. LOL.

Anyway, you need to know how old your plant is, usual is 5 years from seed to bloom. Though another friend who grows them showed me some that were blooming in 3 years. Each year the flower ball gets bigger and better. I do think they like to be a bit rootbound. Do not overwater. Sadly they bloom once a year but in a way it makes it that much more special and to be treasured so dearly.

Recently I bought a very special one, and guess what color it is??? A variegated PINK one. LOL LOL LOL!
Be still my PINK striped heart.

Clivia as far as you can see and I looked at each one looking for that special shade.
