I'd like to start a thread (I was inspired by Frostweed's great new threads on Texas Native plants!!) on plants that are deer resistant and still do well with our Texas heat ( we had several weeks in a row of temps over 100 last summer--up to 107!). And yes, we all know that deer will eat the bark off trees if hungry enough, but the emphasis here is on the word resistant--not "deer proof."
I think it will be wonderful for someone who is just planting his or her gardens to just look at the list and "pick and choose."
I'm looking forward to learning what to plant myself.

Please include a picture of the plant if possible.

I'll start out with bulbine, which is one of my favorites. (B. frutescens/ B.caulescens) grows to about 2 feet when flowering; likes full sun; can freeze in our coldest weather, so plant in more protected area; looks a bit like aloe vera to me
