Carol, your garden was lovely. When I was in the UK in 1976 I fell in love with the cottage gardens, and that has been my inspiration ever since. I love the old scented roses, newer ones have more petal count, more disease resistance, but seldom have much scent. DD doesn't think she will be able to make the Nationals this year, she still has two of her litter of nine puppies at home, besides her grown dogs, and with her big van getting such bad milage, gas would be hugely expensive, on top of motel and other expenses. She was dying to meet you.

Some snobby guy came to look at her two remaining puppies which are adorable and said "So, what's wrong with these that nobody bought them?" Needless to say, she was beyond offended. She guarantees her pups for hip/ eye/ etc. and would always take them back if there was a problem.. She brushed him off and told me there is no way she would have sent a puppy home with a jerk like him. Since DS and DIL will have a bigger house and yard soon, she might give them one of her big males who is a super sweet dog but not brilliant...LOL They would be thrilled...

Been putzing around outside, hanging clothes, (won't be able to do that much longer!) deciding where to put the hardy hibiscus to survive our arctic winds, and the lilies I picked up. DH and his buddy worked on the fallen branch and sawed it all up, and are gone to haul it away and pick up wood chips for the next section of the weed destroyed front tier.

Went to check on my one producing tomato plant, and found a visitor. He and his friends ate holes in a half dozen of the green ones. He won't be back. Looked to see if there were more liike him, but didn't see any . Could one do this much damage? What can I use that won't be detrimental to the remaining tomatoes? Ugh. Nasty looking . Cut worm?

Can't blame you for being ticked off Sarv....I hate those halfhearted "come if you want to" invitations, like it's such a nuisance to have us tag along. My usual response to that sort of thing is not to be around when DH returns. Go to a movie, go out to eat somewhere, drop in on kids or whatever, just so there's an empty house and no dinner waiting. And even then, I wonder if he notices I'm not there!!!

Maria, I have written one of my long trivial posts and hit the wrong key and had it completely disappear....and started over. Or said I was posting a picture, and forgot to browse for it....Blame it on the computer, can't be us!!

Speaking of pictures, here's my visitor shortly before I cheerfully ground him into mushy green goo with my nine and a halfs.
