I root ones that are 7 ft tall! I take off all the buds and big leaves. I just leave a few little ones at the very top. Then I fill a pot with fast draining soil. Try to make the pot a deep one so it will put down a good root system from a good length of trunk. For 5 ft and taller, I use a 5 a gallon pot.

Move it to total shade, I stick the brug in it, press the dirt tight to the trunk. And I leave it alone in the shade for several weeks. I only water when the soil is dry. I may spray mist the top if it looks like it is wilting. I have green tops bend over in wilt only to stand up a few weeks later. Do NOT water if it wilts if the soil is wet. You will rot it.

I am doing a 6 foot sucker of BF right now. I just looked today and saw little leaves standing up tall so I know it is putting down good roots now.
