The part of Buffalo I live in needs all the trees it can get, we lost quite a few to Dutch Elm disease years ago, and nothing cools things off in the summer better than the shade of a giant tree. I am just sick. The landlord also left all of the cut branches piled in the back of this yard, which buts up aginst mine, and as I was standing there, a friendly little rat came running towards me and then doubled back into the woodpile.
It reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw, something like " when we cut down all the trees we'll name the streets after them."
