I have planted seeds directly in them, though I usually plop my rockwool seedlings in these. They are 4 inches across and 5 inches deep. They are also great for cuttings. And so cheap, instead of sterilizing to reuse, I just toss them. I can also write the name of the brug in magic marker on the side.
