Gitagal wrote: The numbers of plants you guys 'throw around" is mind boggling to me. 144 Zinnias????? When do you have time to plant all these things?? There is another Allium ready to bloom soon. I think I only planted 3 or 4. Some of my Zinnias (from seed) are getting huge. I never seem to be able to prioritize what should be done first. I have the flowers I bought-- and the ones from seed, but the beds are not yet planting ready. Bummer! SS-- I seeded a couple pinches of seed from a deep blue Petunia I had last summer. Wouldn't you know it--they ALL germinated! About 10 days ago--I picked all the seedlings out and planted them in all kinds of little bowls and containers. They did not even have true leaves yet--but I had to separate them. I could offer you one of these containers--if you are willing to wait and wait until they can be planted out. I don't know where--or when--I will be able to plant these out. That is why I do not like growing too many things from seed. I'd rather spend $2 and get them in a 4-pack at my local Nursery. They are always so spectacular... Also--SS--I grow a mandevilla every year. My splurge of $20-something. I LOVE--LOVE this vine! It climbs as high as I have a trellis (8') and then starts to fall back down over itself--blooming away. I don't care for the red ones...I like this variety--with the heavier, crinkled leaves and lg. pink blooms. Top of my Mandevilla last October. G. |
