I haven't noticed babies yet, but that could be because the undergrowth has taken over with all the rain. My big double whit has a youngster that is tiny but is putting up a bloom stalk. I planted these two years ago and have abandoned them to their fate, which seems to be going their way, lol. Like Gypsi says, they do fine.mine have never bloomed that second time in a year, maybe I need to fertilize? Don't be afraid to grab one off a clearance table, they can be tucked in anywhere and don't go roaming. They need sun to bloom well, but they can handle light shade or a little during part of the day. They hate wet feet and love good dirt. I killed a few, but I think it was wet feet, not that they were difficult. I truly do forget about them as the summer comes on and other flowers start taking over the garden. But they for give me and keep on keeping on. I will say that the best thing I ever did for my wild cottage garden was to snake soaker hoses through out it. They were/are the best investment I made. |
