Beginner Gardening: Should I be worried about moss growing on tree trunk?, 0 by asish

The tree is in the Washington (Seattle area) and is deciduous. It is about 20 feet high and otherwise appears healthy.

Should I be getting rid of the moss? How? I would like to avoid putting any chemicals on the tree.
