I gave my sister a small Hoya carnosa for her birthday last June. It seemed to do okay for a while but then went into decline and so in September or October she gave it to me to save. I have never had one so have read all I can and so far it has survived. The problem is it has not grown at all. Maybe it is in a dormant period? I moved it about a week ago from a south window to near a west facing sliding glass door. It's leaves look healthy. Should I not expect to see any growth this time of year? I am hoping to get it to grow large and healthy so that one day my sis can try again. She had a large Hoya years ago that did very well for her and had talked about it as being the one plant she was able to grow. Oh well. I have read that they are more delicate when small. I will include a picture and if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
