Every plant we put out around here gets eaten unless they are absolutely and thoroughly deer resistant. Even some plants that are known to be deer resistant still get eaten. We have a lot of deer.

I found that the deer eat both brugs and daturas when they are very small seedlings - under 12 inches with small leaves. This is because they nibble it off, and then spit it back out.

Once they get a little bigger, however, they are completely left alone. So I keep them protected until they are about 12 inches and have some good foliage, then I remove the protection and the deer leave them alone.

These plants are a fine choice for heavily deer populated areas.
