Are Brugs deer resistant?

St. Louis, MO(Zone 6b)

Can anyone tell me if they have had experience with deer eating their brug plants? I am looking for a place to plant out some of my seedlings in the spring and the deer population in those areas seems to be a deterent. What is your experience?

I have read that they are deer resistant.

Every plant we put out around here gets eaten unless they are absolutely and thoroughly deer resistant. Even some plants that are known to be deer resistant still get eaten. We have a lot of deer.

I found that the deer eat both brugs and daturas when they are very small seedlings - under 12 inches with small leaves. This is because they nibble it off, and then spit it back out.

Once they get a little bigger, however, they are completely left alone. So I keep them protected until they are about 12 inches and have some good foliage, then I remove the protection and the deer leave them alone.

These plants are a fine choice for heavily deer populated areas.

Thanks Dave. That's good news.

Neat pic! I just can't get over that breed of deer.

Padre, my little herd of whitetail leave em alone too.

I wish they would come to my yard and I would feed them. I love to watch them running through the pastures around here. I do leave the apples in the orchard for them.
