The parent that produced the seed is a huge birdnest type anthurium with 3 ft long strap leaves, and I suspect but am not certain that the pollen parent was Anthurium gracile.

Anyway here is a photo of the first blooms. There are more than one in bloom and so far the blooms all look like they are the same color, a sort of a dark gold on the outside with a more reddish stripe (may not show that way in th epics but that is what it really looks like in person)

I put my hand in to show the scale.

Lari Ann, do you think the blooms will get bigger as the plants get bigger??
