Glory, do you prune that one in the picture? I have never seen such a close mass of blooms on a native azalea. I would suggest to folks not to plant them in deep shade as they will get taller and gangly and not be as pretty as Glory's picture is. They will be stretching for light and probably not have as many blooms. This is the way they are in the deep woods, but those that you find in a sunnier location are usually bushier and have more blooms. Some shade is okay. Mine don't get afternoon sun (not on purpose, just happened to be where I planted them many years ago).
