77sunset wrote: Hello Fred. It can certainly get confusing, especially when there are different regional names for the same plant . I have always known the zygocactus as either just zygo or crab cactus. The rhipsalidopsis , I found on internet sites. I love them all. They are so easy to grow and give such beautiful flowers . I have an entire shadehouse now just filled with the zygos and relatives. If you really want to be confused , have a look into the aprorcactus. I ended up with a lot of these type in the epi collection. There are so many sorts of what I call octopus cacti for their long tentacle type branches. I had flowers on some this year and there again is a wide variation from little rhipsalis flowers to some of the aporos larger flowers like epis. . It's great to be able to talk about them here because noone seems to know about them very much in Australia unless they are a collector. have a great day. I have put up a pic of one of my aporos. |
