Diane, you don't need much a stem to stick an episcia stolon. Some people just place them in a terrarium on the top of the soil and press gently. That is all.

This is off topic but i want to tell you that i spent the entire morning cleaning up the front porch to make room for many more plants when the time comes. (It is still not cold yet)
I need many more places for hanging baskets but I don't have the molly bolts and the screws and s hooks yet.

The first thing i did was to grab a hanging basket of Creeping Charlie and bees came out everywhere and stung me on the left pointer finger 3 times....same finger!
I ran and got the bee killer that sprays 25 feet and killed both the plant and all the bees (LOL)

The next endeavor was to move the brugs so they could get more light this winter. Those fire ants were all over me stinging even under my shirt , my neck and just alll over my body. I ran and jumped in the shower as fast as i could because I could not get them off of me. They make those big white blisters where they sting.

But............for the good news I did make progress making room for more plants......
