Well everyone, this brug did not stay the clear, bright, lemon yellow that I was hoping that it would. It is just like its pod mate 'Autumn Treasure', yellow during the summer and orange in the fall. I was so hoping that it would stay yellow, but it was not meant to be with this cross. And I have come to the conclusion that it is not cool temperatures in the fall that causes Autumn Treasure, its sister, or some of the other yellow/orange brugs, to turn orange or a darker shade of orange in the fall. Because we have had summer time temps (mid 80's to near 90 degrees F) during the development and opening of these blooms. I truly believe that it has to do with the amount of daylight and darkness.

My wife and I have decided to still give this seedling the original name that was chosen for it, even though it did develop the orange color. My DW had came up with a very fitting name for it, but because the color orange has a correlation to the chosen name, it will stay the same. I plan to reveal the name once I hear back from one of the people who are helping to evaluate the seedling.

Liz, I am so disappointed that this seedling did not stay a true yellow. I would have rather that the bloom become a very light yellow in the fall than develop the orange color. But hey, we need more good yellow and oranges. Most people have been on a pink kick for many years now, its time to change.
