Beginner Gardening: bamboo as a garden friend, 0 by frogbutterfly

I would like to start adding bamboo to the many plants I already have in my garden. I have been told that they can be invasive if not tamed. Does anyone know of any books or reading material that I can obtain so that I may do this right when it comes to planting these beautiful plants.
