The wing definitely has the Eristalis 'venal loop'. The leg colour on E. pertinax also look to match mine more closely. There are more pics to view on the next site by clicking on the link below the pics. http://www.gardensafari.net/english/hoverflies.htm There is also E. interruptus on the above site which has a black spot on the edge of the wing, on some of my pics I can see a blackish line at the edge which it should have but not a dot. The abdomen pattern also looks different. It was high up so the shot was pot luck, not central! |
