Clare_CA wrote: Congrats, David. It is a beautiful bloom. I have that one blooming now too. It isn't 'Slaughter Pink,' which has much narrower petals. This one goes by a bunch of different names: 'Cancun Pink,' 'Mexican Pink,' 'Playful,' and 'Peggy's Pink,' and 'Peggy Higdon' to name a few. I just call mine 'Mexican Pink.' It has a soft floral fragrance which reminds me of baby powder. It's not a strong fragrance to begin with. I think heat and humidity bring out fragrance so it stands to reason that plumerias are more fragrant during the day than at night, but I don't know about which times of the day are more fragrant than others. I don't think hummingbirds are attracted to plumeria flowers as the ones in my yard go for the red salvia instead. Edited to add: I forgot to add that the flower fades fairly quickly on this one, and it has poor keeping quality because of the thin petals, and it is a tall grower.
