LhasaLover wrote: My cuttings from Buried Treasures are already starting to wake up! So exciting to be so soon. I have only had them about 2 weeks! the little 'claws' are poking their heads up. It must mean they are happy under my table. I have a waterbed mat wraped insdie a verly large plastic trash bag and then laid out on the cement floor with a water resistant sheet over it. Plants are on top with the temp sensor in a "dummy pot". Table is covered with plastic to make a mini green house and I have a 4ft flourescent light fixture mounted under the table with two 40 watt aquarium and plant lights in it. It is warm, bright and humid. I keep the temp about 88 and humidity between 50 to 65%. We will see what happens. I have a large rooted cutting that is also waking up with 5 or 6 places putting out leaves along the top and further down on the trunk where another cutting was taken at some time. Bought it on e-bay.. It was the base of a small tree that had been cut up and then dug up. I am sooo excited about every one of my little plumies. I hope to have a small forrest of plumies by the end of the summer next year. LOL Here is a picture. The tri tip in the middle is one I am talking about and the large pot is the 'cut up tree trunk'. Most of the leaves you see are 5 month old seedlings that were given to me recently but I do have two 'y' cuttings in there that I started that have lots of leaves. Not bad for a newbie if I may say so .... patting myself on the back... I have killed enough cuttings in the past 4 months to make this all a wonderful reward for persistance. Tammie |
