Plumeria Special for DG Members Only. Caloused cuttings 16-18

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Are these the ones over at the Classified Forum by Buried Treasures? Yes, it is a good deal.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Clare, I got mine from Buried Treasure's today! They are beautiful! What a deal indeed.
My sick plumeria by the way, is blooming again today! Do you think that's a sign of hope?

That pick shows roots on one...are these cuttings or rooted plants - anyone know?

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

I got mine today and they already have little roots on them. They are cuttings about 15 inches long. I am so impressed with how fast they processed and shipped the order!

I ordered 3 tri tip and 2 double tips and all but one had roots. The one that did not have roots looked slightly dark and a little soft. I contacted them to let them know I was concerned about it and they were very responsive. Told me to give it a try rooting and if it rotted, let them know and they would replace it. So far, they all look OK but have only been potted a week.

Tammie, dark and a little soft isn't necessary an indication that it is bad, but it is very good that they offered you a replacement if needed.

Louise, that is great! Yes, it is a good sign!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Mine were also rotted and very nice looking, I too was impressed with their service.

Louise, you mean rooted; right? LOL!

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Too funny....can't tell you how many times I've typed rotted instead of rooted....ugh!! NOT what I want...rotted plants!!!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

OMG yes, I meant rooted! Sorry about that! LMAO! They were nicely ROOTED!!!!!
Clare, my plumeria that wasn't doing well is starting to perk up. There's about 20 buds on it and 2 blooms. The branches are firming up, thanks so much Clare for your great advice.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

LOL, Chantell and Louise! I've done that too! Louise, I'm so glad to hear that your plant is perking up! I'm sending you both a dmail right now in regard to something else.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Got it Clare. You've got d-mail.
And I typo'd again...my struggling plumeria only has about 10 buds, not 20 and 2 blooms, whishful thinking I guess this time.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Louise, can you post a pic? I would love to see it. I'm going to post some more pics of blooms soon too.

My cuttings from Buried Treasures are already starting to wake up! So exciting to be so soon. I have only had them about 2 weeks! the little 'claws' are poking their heads up. It must mean they are happy under my table. I have a waterbed mat wraped insdie a verly large plastic trash bag and then laid out on the cement floor with a water resistant sheet over it. Plants are on top with the temp sensor in a "dummy pot". Table is covered with plastic to make a mini green house and I have a 4ft flourescent light fixture mounted under the table with two 40 watt aquarium and plant lights in it. It is warm, bright and humid. I keep the temp about 88 and humidity between 50 to 65%. We will see what happens. I have a large rooted cutting that is also waking up with 5 or 6 places putting out leaves along the top and further down on the trunk where another cutting was taken at some time. Bought it on e-bay.. It was the base of a small tree that had been cut up and then dug up. I am sooo excited about every one of my little plumies. I hope to have a small forrest of plumies by the end of the summer next year. LOL

Here is a picture. The tri tip in the middle is one I am talking about and the large pot is the 'cut up tree trunk'. Most of the leaves you see are 5 month old seedlings that were given to me recently but I do have two 'y' cuttings in there that I started that have lots of leaves. Not bad for a newbie if I may say so .... patting myself on the back... I have killed enough cuttings in the past 4 months to make this all a wonderful reward for persistance.

Lookin' good, Tammie!

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

How super, Tammie! Hope mine do as well.

update.. I am just sooo excited. 4 of my 5 cuttings are all awake and reaching for the light. One already has 2 fully open leaves and all 4 have several starting to spread open. I potted them on oct 20th. How is that for growing? It just lets me know that I must have set up the right enviornment for them. Yes, I am patting myself on the back... it is just so much fun.. not the patting, the growing.
