Abbie, yours looks pretty great to me! Yes, mine are receiving some direct sun every day and do not burn, but they get plenty of water. They were in filtered sun, but got booted off the patio this spring for lack of room. I think yours would do fine in direct sun, provided they were acclimated and watered well.
