I just got back inside after checking on my what-we-think-is-Maya until we compare mature colors or something :-) and let me tell you (do I really need to?) the fragrance is intoxicating. It reminded me of a scented candle I've smelled many times before, but I don't know which scent it is-- I was instantly aware of the sort of waxy odor--like if someone held a scented candle under your nose, even with closed eyes, you'd know it was a candle--that sort of smell. Oh, that Maya (?) bewitched me so! I had to keep sniffing and taking in that delightful fragrance, trying each time to name it, figure out what it reminded me of, but I just couldn't. I kept getting lost in it. About four blooms open now, while the "Frosty Pink" (?) is all budded up for a good show, just a few more days yet before it begins. Some pix of Maya in the moonlight, with flash. |
