Here in Tampa we are on the very northern edge of this plants range. The red loses a lot of leaves in winter, not much in the way of 'die back' on the wood. I noticed this plant last winter and it had all its foilage, unlike the red ones I see around town it seemed more tolerant of the winter chill. I don't go down that street often, but I was really surprised today to see it in full bloom and it is later flowering than the red. The red one ones hardly ever flower here and when they do it is a sparse show. This one is very showy. I got a hit on this plant in the ID forum, but, it is simply know as 'orange' in the catalog and Top Tropicals has this one and the yellow 'Flava'. I am going to be down in the Miami area next week so Top Trop is on my list.

It is interesting to me that they are grafting these trees. Do you know the rootstock of your yellow? I am guessing you bought it that way.
