I thought it would be great fun if I brought Ruthie as a surprise with me the next spring. I was hoping she stayed pretty for she had only had her first bloom period that fall. It was not a well thought out plan, just a lighthearted idea that I thought would be great fun for her. It really wasn't meant to be named after her, but rather for her, if you can understand the distinction. Well my Mom died early in that next spring as the daffodils were making it into the stores there, sadly before she heard about it or saw it, so it is kind of bitter sweet.
