He tried to pull it, but I told him not to. It's been more or less like this photo since then. Tonight I was weeding the bed and I found two of these leaves popping up about 8" from the plant. I tried to pull one and it snapped off. I left the other one as is.

Anyone know what this is and whether I should be getting rid of it?
