No houses there...so I decided it was going to be the repository for So-So seedings and pruned branches. The truncks with balls of roots we just threw in the bush, making sure they had organic matter like leaves and stuff around them...they will root and grow and bloom like crazy. It rains nearly every night here...now. The pruned parts...now this was work; with a digging bar, my 15 year old helper (moi? nonono..I don't do digging bars anymore) thrust the bar into the ground until he found at least 6-7" of space...into it went the trunk. Sometimes I prune off the leaves, sometimes not. In a couple/4 months, will post the continuing saga of transplanting in the rain forest. PS this method works much better than digging holes and planting purposefully. Guess it is pretty obvious we don't have 'formal' gardens...LOL This message was edited Apr 23, 2006 8:06 PM |
