This cultivar is supposed to be Wisteria floribunda 'Royal Purple,' one of the darkest cultivars, but it doesn't look very dark to me. This is a grafted vine and is only about a foot tall after two years of growing it. My Wisteria sinensis 'Cook's Purple' almost looks darker than this one. It smells lovely though.
