I thought I would share a few pics of what has been blooming inside the greenhouse this winter. Some of these flowers, you have seen me post before. This is Gulf Stream, which was kicked out of the greenhouse a few weeks ago:
Some More Blooms
Clare, if and when you want any more wisteria JLMK. It grows wild here. It will climb trees like nobodies business. But when it blooms, it is just plain beautiful, and you can smell it for miles. When it blooms here I will send pictures to show you what I mean.
Melanie
Thanks, Melanie! I better not have any more wisteria for now while my space is so limited, but I do really enjoy the ones that I have. I can't wait to see your pictures! Feel free to post them here if you like so everyone can see. Kell loves wisteria too and has some awesome vines.
Thanks, Melanie! Beautiful pics! Thanks for posting them! Here is another one of mine for you. This cultivar is supposed to be Wisteria floribunda 'Royal Purple,' one of the darkest cultivars, but it doesn't look very dark to me. This is a grafted vine and is only about a foot tall after two years of growing it. My Wisteria sinensis 'Cook's Purple' almost looks darker than this one. It smells lovely though.
Clare,
I believe that is the same one I just dug up!
Does it smell like grape soda at first?
Mine was a root when I bought it
Then it went crazy
I cut back about 30 foot a year.
Shes gone now.
I sent a nice piece to Suki
I hope it took.
I sent her a rooted runner.
Michael, this one of mine is a named and registered cultivar. I think the one that grows wild is just called blue wisteria or purple wisteria or something like that and is Wisteria sinensis (Chinese wisteria). Mine is Wisteria floribunda (Japanese wisteria). This is a graft and growing in a container so it should remain fairly small. It has only grown about a foot in the last two years that I've had it. I do have other wisterias, though, that are good growers. Here is a pic showing a few of mine. I do remember you saying that you dug yours up. I'm glad Suki got a piece; although, she'll have to grow it in a container to keep it from getting invasive in Hawaii. Now you have more room for plumies!
Edited to fix spelling.

Mrs. Malestrom will be occupying that space. ;)
LOL, for a moment, I was wondering what your wife would be doing in that space! LOL!
you all are just too much!! LOL!
Shell be resting in the shade.
The gentle waving shadows of towering plumies above will caress her soft hair.
The whispers of the breeze hushing through the bamboo leaves will sing her gentle sonnets
The soft wet bubbling sounds of the dragonfly pond will carry away all thoughts of worry and tomorrows.
etc.....
Shall I continue? LOL! Im in a mood today.....
I finnaly had a good nights sleep after the last 5 spent up every hour coughing...
Ahhhh ..... sigh* ...... sleeeeep... feels so good!!! 8^D
Awe, Michael, yes, sleep is good. Feel better soon!
Sleep? Sleep? Oh please tell me about sleep...OMG!!! Just teasing...last night was a rare happening. I'm sorry you have to deal with that Michael...nothing worse then trying to sleep and not being able to. Hope you continue to get good restful sleep!!! We've got to get you to writing a poetry book...sounds like you've got it in you. :)
I do once in a while
Never put it together in book form though
Life events are, as I'm sure with you, what inspire me. I don't keep track of mine...that's what my bestest bud from HS's job is. She keeps insisting she's gonna send something in to Hallmark or something...LOL Tell her "keep dreamin' Dorothy...Oz is on the horizon!" :)
