I have a flowering plum. There is one growing in a huge cow pasture several miles up the road. My DH knew I admired it so much, that one night on his way home, about 1 in the morning he went over the fence and probably 1/3 of a mile across the field and grabbed ahold of one growing out from it. It came up with a very large root about 2 inch diameter and growing at a 45 degree angle and around 3 ft long. That was a very odd hole. But It did not even wilt. I told him with all the love he put into getting it and especially noticing how much I loved that tree, God did not let it wilt or lose 1 leaf.

My 2 friends were green, they also wanted one. He said he would get them one. Well I was reminded that there is a huge brahama bull in the field. And he said they could forget it. Had he remembered it was there mine I would still be admiring from afar. For a long time we would round that corner and I would tell him the bull knew what he looked like and was still looking for him. I highly recomend them as the leaves are burgandy all year round.

Another I highly recomend is a fruitless pomegranate. Oh my gosh, every spring mine takes my breath away. The blooms are the most gorgeour orange. A little darker than a popcycle and are fuller than a carnation. The pictur below doesn't do it justice. It can be pruned but I did not do that so it looks huge, I have had it around 15 years, It is a slow grower and the color is orange not the true color in the picture. You would love it. My friend found one at a nursery for 22 dollars for a 2 or 3 gallon in the last few years.

Wow I bet I would love to have a Bird of Paradise tree. If you have any luck with those seeds and have too many, please remember me.
I have never seen one but I bet I will be looking it up.

Blessings,
