Aren't they the best?? I love them too much. I resisted for a long time. But I have a good friend who has lots of them and he kept showing me his. Then I broke. And got broke also. LOL. Good ones are very expensive sadly! They make double pink brugs look cheap in comparison. Of course I have no really good ones yet. LOL

They would be such fun to hybridze but unlike brugs which are so fast and easy, clivia are much harder and it also takes about 5 years to flower. That is a long time. You should see the colors they are working on not only in the leaves but also the flowers. ADDICTING big time. They also are so much smaller than brugs and way less messy. And I do not think they get mites!!! Or at least mine haven't. In fact nothing has bothered mine ever. NO BUGS!!! WOW. I just fell in love all over again! There are some specialty nurseries and they sell some on ebay!

Hi Brenda! No, I just take the bag off. The seedlings stay in the same place underlights, so the only thing that has changed is the humidity and of course they go into dirt right away after I take them out of the bag. I never have sterilized my soil though some here do. I am more of a no muss and fuss gal. I use rockwool not dirt to germinate also. I never open my bags until I am ready to plant the seedlings. Sometimes, not all the seeds have germinated and then I put those back into the bag. But I am careful to wash my hands well and get them back in fast.

Here are some coming up in rockwool.
