The macro and super macro are a snap, you just change the dial setting and the camera focuses automaticaly, if you just get it the right distance from the object you want to shoot. It has 4.0 megapixels, which is a measure of resolution. Some of the cheaper models go down to 3.0, I think, and are cheaper, but look at the clarity on the following pictures! No tripod, by the way. This one cost around $300 when we got it last year. This picture, of a Euphorbia Lomii thai hybrid, was taken on macro.
