Today I received my first hoyas from Asiatica. I ordered macgillivrayi, imperialis var. rauschii, and the megalaster. Of the 3, I believe my favorite is the macgillivrayi....but that's just from the leaves and the plant itself.

I'm sharing a few photos so that all of you seasoned hoya-lovers and experts can tell me if I received 'good quality' plants, as I'm a hoya-newbie. Each plant appears to be healthy and seemingly ready to be repotted soon. Single hoya plants were in each of the baskets, no multiples and no multiple vines (those had been cut, probably for resale with their cuttings offerings). New, green tips were on 2 of the 3 hoyas. One hoya tip was dried and split. I assume this plant will re-vine from the previous leaf-pair. ( Is that correct ?)

I took pics of the hoyas and of the 3 other plants that I ordered: Cyrtosperma johnstonii, dischidia ioantha, and dischidia ruscifolia. The dischidia species are quite different from each other but I like both very much.

The Cyrtosperma was a disappointment due to the condition of the plant received ( a number of holes in each of the 3 leaves, indicating probable bug chews). This plant is similar to Alocasia (the Elephant Ears plants), so foliage is the focal point. Well, the plant I received was one sad looking, chewed plant. But, I will keep it and nurture it and hopefully it will grow better foliage in my greenhouse.

Asiatica has a pretty good website to order from. The company packed each plant very well, and their plants arrived safely and on-time. Also, the company did provide an email notice on the day of shipment. I appreciated that.

This hoya, Hoya macgillivrayi, is sitting in a suspended ceramic pot. It has not been repotted but the vine was long enough that it needed to be wrapped to photograph the entire plant sent.
