I whipped up a new soil mixture today. Took half of a new 2 cu ft bag of Miracle Gro Potting Soil and mixed in two full bags of orchid mix and an 8 qt bag of Perlite. The resulting mixture is very light and free draining. Think this will work for the Brug starts from the bubbler? The ones I potted up previously in regular MG soil don't look so hot. Most of them have lost all their leaves and the smallest (really tiny - maybe 1/4" diameter) looks like it is giving up the ghost. But as a plus - and this is for you Hoya nuts like me - I started a hoya in there with just one leaf on the stem and it's cranking out roots to beat the band! Pictures to follow, I hope... Barb |
