Lots of other rex and rhizo's do this. I have the b. erythrophylla that 'twirls' (see attached). You'll see that it is similar to yours but is beginning to twirl and ruffle at the sinus. ( i searched the DG Garden Terms and couldnt find it, but I'll consult my garden books when I get home to make sure it is 'really' called a sinus)

You are so lucky to live in the same state as Baker's, do you ever get a chance to go there?
