BetsyJ wrote: Greetings all! I'm relatively new to DG's AND epiphyllum. My recent addiction to them has taken me from 0 to 18 plants in a matter of a few short months (much to hubby's dismay - ha ha). I love to grow anything that blooms and from what I've seen in pictures - ya can't beat epies! None of mine have bloomed yet as I started out buying un-rooted cuttings. Decided I couldn't wait for them to mature and bought several large plants off eBay. Now I just have wait....and wait. *sigh* From what I'm reading, most epies only bloom once a year...in the springtime...is that right? If so, oh boooy do I have a long time to wait. =( Any other growing tips? I'm especially interested in knowing how to winter them over in the house: Illinois winters can be brutal so I'm sure I'll have to bring them in at some point. Would appreciate any advice you can provide! Anyways....here's a pic of *most* of my epies (plants on the top shelf, newly rooted cuttings on the next shelf down - - and yes, I have looots of other plants!) |
