You remember that Mango tree that gave up a couple large branches last year during hurricane Frances?

Well, the tree is still going strong. Kitty corner across the back fence, there is a much larger tree that the fruit is already ripe. Mine seems to be just a bit behind.

I walk out in the back yard and with the sun now shining again, the fragrance becomes overwhelming. What?, you might ask does that fragrance resemble?

ROTTING FRUIT!!!!!! Some of the leaves are starting to fall, and I am getting about 2 mangos a day on the ground, the almost ripe, but still quite firm ones. Man ya gotta watch out you are not standing under it when one falls. They come crashing down through the branches and destroy everything tender on its way to earth.

It's manageable right now, but when they are all ripe and ready, I need to get some of the local mango lovers over here to harvest the fruit. Otherwise, they lay on the ground and rot and draw knats, other bugs, raccoons and possums to the yard. I really have to watch my poor little pond, one of those get in there, we are talking quick cesspool.

Where on earth would you get the idea that I don't care for mangos?

Here's a straight up shot of a couple of the smaller ones.

Mango lovers!!!! you are welcome to bring your mango pickers over and takem off the tree, any time now, PLEEEEEAAASSSEEEE DMAIL ME that you are coming.
