The picture frame you see is of Lord Rama, a painting in the traditional Mysore style [from the epic, Ramayana]. It has a nice history. My grandfather had begun his law practice in 1925 and the painter was one of his early clients. After he won the case for him, the painter-client expressed his inability to pay the fees. Instead, he offered two of his paintings [this is one of them, the other one is at my mother's place, even more grand] as fees to which my kind grandfather who was known for all the nice qualities of a humble, kind and generous qualities of real gentleman agreed to it and so they have stayed here with us. It seems this one was in the place then, where I have kept now [just two days ago it was brought from my m's place] when it came to us.

This is our living room, my altered book-shelf becomes the stand for this picture. On top right is the picture of my grandparents. It was he who built this house in 1911. On top left is his elder brother who jointly saw through tough times and were able to save money that eventually helped their families to come up.

I was supposed to have ran and sat in that old rose-wood easy chair [seen on the left] for that picture above. But this one is even worse -- this was also set to auto, but hardly had I moved, the shutter went off! The chair is my favourite reading spot, a CFL is above it, for reading purposes. The 'paper-stand next to the chair [hope you can notice it] is made from waste material.. wood and plastic.
