After reading the above postings, I visited the Brugs while it was still raining and I do believe it was the rain. Some of those drops are very large and heavy. The repeated assult of the drops just destroyed these new leaves. I couldn't find a potting soil I liked so I made up my own with the help of a cement mixer. I did it basically by smell and feel for the finished product. Whew what a job!! Afterward I wrote out what all I had put in the mix and I was afraid I had put in too much fertilizer. It could be the rapid growth of the leaves contributed to them being too fragile to withstand the heavy rains. I went ahead and put them in the 25 gallon containers, blue tubs in the background, because I knew I would not get the opportunity to pot them up again. I'm still learning so don't anyone go by what I have done. Judy |
