It rained all yesterday and last night.....

The last time I did my 'Brug Tour' was Tuesday night. This morning I couldn't believe the damage to 'some' of my Brugs and I am confused as to source of the damage. Any assistance anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I pulled some really small tree limbs out of some of the holes, before I decided to take pictures, but there didn't seem to be near enough dead limbs in the pots or on the pad (upon which they reside) to account for all these holes.

The damage seems to be confined to the Brugs which were under the outer edge of the old oak tree canopy which is where the small limbs would most likely be and there in almost no damage to the brugs closer to the trunk.

I searched high and low for insects or snails/slugs. Under the pad, scratched in the flowerbeds no damage to those plants, under leaves, in the pot's soil. I found 1 slug on a leaf of a Brug but none on the Brugs with the damage.

Could a swarm of something have come in the middle of the showers, immediately after or between showers, munched out and then left?

Talk about disheartening..................
