My first year doing them I would peel them then put in damp paper towels in a plastic bag. They would germinate in the plastic bag and then I would plant them up. I didn't have such great germination rate as you did, Mitch. You can't argue with success. LOL Now I use rockwool, but I know some here use dirt. In using either, I would place the peeled seeds on top of the rockwool, slightly pressed in but where you can see the tops. Then I bag them in clear plastic, seal the bag and place under lights. I do not use bottom heat and I only soak the seeds if they are old. I know some here do not even peel their seeds, I prefer to. I get great germination. Let us know how you do, jjayroe. They grow so fast they are fun to watch. |
