I hope this is the right place to post this - I know datura are not brugs, but maybe someone here can give me some advice . .. I have double yellow and double purple devils trumpets (datura) and both are having this problem. The seed pods are cracking before the seeds inside are really 'ripe' or ready and I'm losing tons of seeds. The other thing that is happening is the pods are just rotting on the plant and never even forming seeds.

I'm in Florida and we have had above average rainfall this year, is that the problem? Too much moisture? I thought that during the summer with all the rain, but lately we haven't had so much and it's still happening.

I thought I'd ask to see if there was something I should be adding to the soil / some nutrient they are missing? or is it just the weather? I didn't have this problem last year. My neighbor is having the same problem with hers - - actually, worse because almost all of hers are just rotting on the plant.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Onalee
