Tropicals & Tender Perennials: how much sun do Alocasia micholitziana 'Green Velvet' prefer, 0 by emilyrasmus

Half the sites I went to said can handle full sun while others listed it as preferring partial sun to shade. I took the picture right after I misted it; the leaves are very velvety and not shiny once they are dry. How often should I mist it. I've been misting it once daily in the evening.

One more question. When I purchased this plant at a local nursery, there were two plants with a total of about 5 leaves. Now two months later, there are six plants and many more leaves. Is this normal? I've been giving it plenty of water as well as feeding it every two weeks with a diluted fertilizer solution.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I want to take good care of the beautiful plant.
