I ordered 3 miniature thornless & 1 Valentine rose 9/03 for upstate NY. They were exceptionally well packaged and very healthy even having buds on them. They flowered profusely in the fall & are doing well this spring. Excellent plants at a very good price. Will definitely order from them again.

Wonderful company and experience. They are beautiful, larger than expected, healthy and packed well, arrived on time. Thanks so much for a great online ordering experience. I will be back no doubt about it.

As promised I was back this Spring with an order. Just as pleased as the first time and no doubt will buy from them again. I love the price, quality and size of these roses. Wish I had been there sooner before some items had sold out :(

I ordered six roses from this company. They sell only own-root roses, mostly OGR and Austins. The prices are excellent. They confirmed my order by email and gave me a shipping date. I received the roses on schedule. They were very well packed, very healthy, and bigger than I expected considering the low price. I'll definitely shop with Chamblees again.

This has been a very good experience. Ordered 7 roses on 1/30/04, was advised by email the next day that one was sold out, gave instructions to sub another variety (all Austins). Specified a ship date of 4/19, credit card was charged 4/14, order shipped UPS 4/19 and received in Kentucky on 4/22. 4 of the 7 plants were much larger than I expected and the other 3 were very satisfactory. 3 roses have buds or blooms and they aren't nearly as yellowed as I had expected. The only thing I didn't care for was that they don't email a shipping confirmation and tracking number. Otherwise everything was excellent. Will order again when I make more space!

In the strongly positive category: the quality and size of the roses I received (I've never had bare-root plants this large before from a mail-order supplier),
The innovative packing method (the use of extra 1-gal cans to act as spacers in the box),
The wide selection of roses available, and the excellent prices (three roses, including shipping, cost me about what I would have paid for J&P "box roses" of comparable varieties at a good local nursery).

In the not-quite-as-positive, but certainly acceptable given the price:

My order didn't come quite as quickly as I would have liked, and there seemed to be a bit of confusion at the nursery. A gentleman called to get my credit card number, then called back a couple hours to say that he didn't need it after all because he'd found it. My roses were supposedly shipped on the 15th, but weren't actually shipped until the 19th according to the UPS label.

The folks at Chamblees have been very nice, answering all my emails and inquiries (hope I haven't been too much of a bother), and I'll certainly order from them again. Or rather, I'll order again just as soon as I can find more excuses to plant more roses :-)

For price and quality, Chamblees simply cannot be beat! I ordered 10 roses from them this winter in two seperate shipments. They adjusted my shipping dates on both orders to my preference (wanted them early) and both orders shipped on time. All in all,I received 10 well packed, healthy and vigorous plants, some already with buds. For the best prices out there!

The monthly newsletter of our local rose society lists all the mail order nurseries in the U.S. as well as Canadian, European, Australian and New Zealand Vendors. Chamblees can count on me sharing my excellent experience with everyone I come in contact with.

Great prices, great plants, prompt and courteous service. The only problem with Chamblee's is they are shipping so many plants, they often run out of what I want. Isn't that a five-star recommendation - to provide such good product, price and service, you run out!

I recently ordered three roses from Chamblees. This year I have tried out three rose suppliers. Chamblees, Vintage Gardens. Amity Heritage, and The Rose Pedler.
In my opinion Chamblees were the best as far as size ...condition recieved, and no black-spot For the price charged. However their customer service is no where near as good as the Rose pedler, or Amity Heritage. On the whole it was a positive experience, and I will order from them again.

I had known the name Chamblee's forever, but it had slipped my mind that they are in Texas. I prefer to get roses from Texas because they are usually more acclimated to the heat here.

Recently someone posted their comments about this company and I decided I need to look and see what they had. There is a great selection of old roses, Austin roses, and some modern roses.

I wanted to place an order but could not do so until about a week or two later.

I emailed the company to see if this was possible. They informed me the last shipping date was the last Monday in May.

I placed the order online but didnt get a confirmation, so I wasnt sure if it had gone through.

They had not received it, but were very helpful about taking the order again, and making an exception to ship them to me even though the final ship date was past. (over Memorial Day weekend).

The head horticulturist dealt with me personally. When we had the order taken and understood, she began giving me cultural instructions.

She informed me that generally they start three cuttings in one pot, unless they are short-stocked due to demand. Since New Dawn had been so popular this year, she said there was only one cane in the pot, but they were really leafed out.

Other roses in less demand have three canes rooted per pot.

The plants were scheduled to be shipped on 6/2/2003.
They arrived 6/3/2003 early in the morning via UPS.

The plants are beautiful, full of leaves and new growth, in 1 gallon pots.

They were carefully packed and suffered no damage.

This was a wonderful buy and the prices are right!

I am fortunate in that I live only 5 miles from this company. I enjoy walking through their huge display of roses and talking with their representatives. They are very helpful and they take the time to assist you in any way they can. I recently took a bloom from a rose that had no identification and not only did they identify it, they had the rose in stock. I have purchased several roses from them and they have all done well. This is a great company to do business with.

What a great company! I ordered 2 roses, and they arrived quickly, were very well-packaged, and had blooms! I'm thrilled. In addition, I asked for recommendations a couple of weeks ago, and got a lengthy reply with plenty of good suggestions for my zone and experience level. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. I will most definitely be returning for more (maybe this week!), and highly recommend the crew at Chamblee's.

I ordered 2 David Austin own-root roses this Spring [2003] and am very pleased with their size and condition upon arrival. I was expecting a tiny pot with bare, dormant canes and was pleasantly surprised to receive nice half-gallon pots with vigorous leafy bushes - one even had a rose blooming. The prices were reasonable for the type of rose I ordered and the packaging was good. I will definitely order from Chamblees in the future.

The roses are lovely. The prices are great. The people who work there know what they are talking about. What more could you ask for?

I ordered a rose from Chamblee's Rose Nursery and it arrived today--in excellent shape. I was extremely surprised at how healthy, hearty, and vigorous the plant looked. Only one broken branch. The packing was excellent. I'm writing them to tell them how pleased I am. I will order from them again.

This is my first attempt at growing Old Garden Roses and I took a chance on ordering from Chamblee's since there are few vendors in my area. My plants arrived as scheduled and were absolutely beautiful! I live in Virginia and after 4 days of the roses traveling from Texas via UPS, they are in great shape. I sent them an email telling them how pleased I was and they were very courteous in return. I would recommend them.

I have ordered hundreds of roses from Chamblee's. They arrived promptly, customer service is superb, and plants are healthy and thrive. Since the roses are growing in pots, sometimes there will be broken stems or blooms. I just trim them off and the plants take off. Only 1 plant was mislabeled and was promptly replaced. Mark Chamblee and his staff are always courteous and informative and I highly recommend their products.

bought 3 miniature rose plants by mail from Chamblee's Nursery in Texas. They arrived in good shape and the plants look hardy. However, when I phoned to ask for care information, which they encouraged in their literature, I spoke to a less-than-friendly person who answered my questions curtly--not exactly what I've come to expect from top-flight companies' customer service department.

I ordered four roses from Chamblee's. They were patient, helpful and friendly on the phone. The order arrived on time (the only one of 3 orders that did) but the packing was a bit messy. There were some broken buds and branches. The plants were small and fairly healthy in spite of their long journey smothered in a cardboard box. Unfortunately, we had a week of frost after they arrived and they suffered a bit. But the prices are excellent ($6.95 for a two year old potted plant) and I'd order from them again
