When the plants arrived they were disappointedly small (6-8 inch twigs) and not healthy. I had ordered other honeyberries from another company that same year, which were easily 10 times better plants for a dollar or so more, much larger and much healthier. Those plants bloomed and fruited this year. One of the ones from Jung's died. This was my first (and last) experience with this company. On June 23rd, 2005, krowten added the following: I will contact the company and see what happens. However, their response does not address the issue of why the invoice incorrectly stated the wrong varieties that were shipped instead of the ones actually shipped, noting that a substitute had been made or why substitutes were shipped without authorization. On Jun 14, 2005, Jung Seed responded with: " On Jun 20, 2005 8:32 AM, Jung Seed added: We are sorry to read about your bad experience with us. Unfortunately, last season our catalog was already printed before we were informed of the crop failure of the varieties of honeyberries listed, so it was necessary for us to substitute similar honeyberry varieties. |

However, this year, I ordered several wildflower bulbs (Jack-in-the Pulpit & Trilliums) which were "rotted" upon arrived. I'm surprised that they would send out bulbs & corms that were so obviously spoiled. On a more positive note, I also ordered two peach trees which were in great condition; they properly pruned and ready to bud. On May 9, 2005, Jung Seed responded with: " On May 18, 2005 3:01 PM, Jung Seed added: I sent you an email on the 9th and have not heard back from you. All arrived in great condition with active green sprouts ready for planting. Now that the plants have been in the ground about a week, they all seem to be thriving and putting out new growth. I have always had good luck ordering perennials from this company and have again been pleased with my current order. |

Recently, I purchased 2 sets of tomato cages, my order came and the box was damaged. The prongs were damaged as well, I e-mailed them. No questions asked, they told me to discard the damaged ones, and they would re-ship no charge. I've had no problem with their customer service. |
| Negative | walkingfern (1 review) | On Jan 10, 2005, walkingfern Millbrook, NY wrote: I noticed that Jung offered bareroot woodland wildflowers for sale. I emailed to inquire if their stock was ethically propagated. To their credit, they responded quickly and honestly. However, there response revealed a depth of ignorance that is shameful in a company that purports to hold high standards of gardening and to be environmentally sensitive. |
| Positive | sderemer (7 reviews) | On Jan 6, 2005, sderemer Monticello, WI wrote: It seems that, for the most part, Jung Seed and affiliated companies have primarily negative ratings. Perhaps Jung bit off more than it could chew when acquiring these other companies. I have done a lot of business with Jung's, and overall, the customer experience and product quality have been good. I hope Jung's pays attention to this negative feedback and improves where it needs to. They are a bit standoffish, though, so don't hold your breath. On February 8th, 2005, sderemer added the following: The Jung COMMERCIAL people are outstanding to work with. |

However, over the last few years I have seen a decline in quality of their plant material and overall customer service. This year, part of my order never arrived and they were unable to provide replacements. While they did refund my payment, I will probably never place another order with them. |
| Positive | nmartens (6 reviews) | On Aug 18, 2004, nmartens Pleasant Prairie, WI wrote: First time ordering from this company. I ordered 3 sets of rose cones via phone. The customer service rep was very polite. I received my order in less than a week. The box was well packed and overall I'm pretty pleased. I think I will order some seeds from them in the future once they send me a catalogue. On May 26th, 2005, nmartens added the following: All the seeds I received germinated pretty well. The only gripe that I have are with the petunias. They say in the catalogue that they'ree pelleted seeds. They're not! They need to either pellitize the seeds or change the item discription. Other than that I will still say that my overall experience with Jung is positive. |
| Negative | randmet (1 review) | On Aug 6, 2004, randmet Fort Wayne, IN (Zone 5b) wrote: After sending three email messages to customer service and making one phone call, I have not received my refund yet of several dead plants. I have been a customer for years. In the phone call in June, the customer rep said I would receive a refund. Two months later - nothing. In the phone call and email messages, they are very vague. |
| Positive | radjerry (1 review) | On Jul 3, 2004, radjerry wrote: I have not placed an order for a couple of years because they stopped sending me their catalog. I requested one through the internet this spring, but did not receive it. I'm in California, so maybe that's the reason. I have used Jung seeds for years and have had good results with them. They have always shipped on time and the quality has been good along with their prices. |
| Positive | keyi (13 reviews) | On May 30, 2004, keyi Yukon, OK (Zone 7b) wrote: Bought several packets of seed, all had average germination and growth. Not really any better or worse than any seed I've bought. Also bought 2 Akebia vines that were shipped well packaged, on time and in good condition. They are both growing slowly but surely. | Positive | sylvi74 (23 reviews) | On May 11, 2004, sylvi74 Oak Grove, MN (Zone 4a) wrote: I got great plants from Jung last year and just received this year's shipment, again everything looks great. I checked their website for my order and couldn't find it, so I emailed them. They responded the same day, reassuring me that they had my order and that I could not check a phone order on the website (kind of weird but okay). The plants were well-packed, which is good as USPS continues to deliver everything upside down. On May 6th, 2005, sylvi74 added the following: Good old Jung Seed! I have ordered from a lot of nurseries over the years, and these guys always do right by me. I ordered their lilac collection this year and the plants just arrived. They are wonderful. They are bare root, covered in leaf buds just waiting to burst open, and have stems that are bigger around than a pencil on all eight varieties. I got much smaller plants for more money at other places. On the occasions when I have had a plant fail, Jung is excellent about issuing a letter of credit, no questions asked. I know they have had some inconsistencies in the past, but I have always gotten very nice plants and outstanding service. Thank you Jung! On June 8th, 2005, sylvi74 added the following: Due to my neglect, I killed some plants that I needed for my landscaping this year that I had gotten from a local nursery. Jung still had the plants in stock and sent them quickly so I could fill in the planned space. Again, they sent very nice plants. |
| Negative | polkaprincess (2 reviews) | On Apr 20, 2004, polkaprincess wrote: I've ordered from Jung's for several years, and their quality has been going downhill for me. This spring I received three monkshood plants - one was mushy with no leaves protruding, another was moldy. The hops plant was poorly packaged, but managed to barely survive rattling around in a box too big for it. The kiwi plant was ok. Time will tell if the monkshood will survive, but they don't look promising. For the last two years, about half of the content of each order needs replaced due to the poor condition of the plants when they arrive. |

Also, no shallot, onion seed included order, no refund for shallot seed.Never complained. Should have. They sent letter with strawberries stating that they had a fire and hoped I would pardon the poor service. I find it very odd no one else mentioned the fire letter for 2003 season. 2004: I decide to give them benefit of doubt. No plants this time though, just seed. Fax order March 12 2004. Email them on the 16th; How come no confirmation? reply: were sorry, your order#abc total $35.55. I reply back: Strange, my total should be 21.95. Reply back: were sorry, your order#xvz and your credit card was denied. I call: my credit card is fine, just used it 1 hour ago. Customer service: sorry you need to call credit dept. Long story short: credit is fine, Jung is not. Customer service suggests I go elsewhere. I agree. Fool me once shame on Jung, fool me twice shame on me. |

I placed my order over the phone and I spoke with a friendly and knowledgeable salesperson. She took my order and gave me helpful advice on what would grow best in my zone. I received my order quickly, and already have the seeds planted. The seeds seem to be very good quality and have a high germination rate. I will definately order from Jung's again, they have a friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as excellent products. |

The lily bulbs and hostas will come later. I will let you know how those are when I get them. I will continue to order from Jung's. |

Seeds were received quickly, and bareroot plants arrived in perfect condition and are doing well. Of the 10 or so plants I have ordered, only one has not survived, and I think my dog was more responsible for the plant dying. Jung replaced this plant, no questions asked and its replacement is doing great. I got tons of raspberries the first season, which I didn't expect. I've done my ordering online and their website is very easy to use, and the few issues I've had were taken care of quickly on the phone. On April 7th, 2005, rjseeney added the following: 4 straight years of ordering, and 4 straight great experiences. This year I ordered lilacs and hostas, and they are all showing signs of life. The plants i've ordered from previous years are thriving. Jung is a company you can count on. |

They always have arrived quickly and in great condition, and the best thing was is that they all grew and bloomed wonderfully. This year (2004) I decided to give them a try for seeds, as their prices seemed pretty good. I ordered the seeds online and got them in the mail just days later. The shipping costs were very fair, compared to other places. I encourage everyone to try Jung Seed. |

I advise everyone to go elsewhere. Any nusery items you get fail to grow. They are almost dead if not dead when you recieve them. The seeds have the worst germination I have ever seen. They have lost alot of us as customers. Let me give you all a tip. Go to a local nursery or department store like Walmart to purchase your plants. Dealing with Jung Seed is not worth the headache you are going to get. |

I called them and told them that the rose was dead and they said it's just dormant and I should go ahead and plant it. Well, I knew it was dead, there was no green anywhere to be found. I called them back again and told them I wanted a refund. They said they don't give refunds and they would send me a replacement. Believe it or not, the replacement was also DEAD. I was irrate at this point and I called them again and told them that the replacement was dead and I wanted my money back. They said they would send me a credit that I could use toward a future purchase, but no money back. I will NEVER order from them again. However, on the bright side, the other three rose bushes were very healthy and doing great. |
