I ordered Luffa and Blue Flax Lilly seeds from FairDinkum on Christmas eve (on a whim) and they arrived within a week! The seeds are beautiful and arrived carefully packaged, lovingly labelled, and I even received BONUS seeds for Black Pearl Chilis and an adorable FairDinkum sticker! I am planning on culling some current garden inhabitants just to make space for more FairDinkum seeds. Thank you!

I have ordered before from fairdinkum seeds and it was a good experience (some packets of seed did not germinate at all). However the latest order was a disaster. As shipping is expensive (A$40), I had wanted to ask if 2 products would be in stock soon, because if the second one wasn't going to be in stock (it wasn't at the time) - then I would just order the first one and be done with it. If the second item was going to be in stock - then I would wait and order both at the same time. That's it, that's all I wanted answered. My question was responded to with very passive-aggressive and rude answers that bore little relevence to what I had actually said..Here are some responses to questions: https://imgur.com/a/q2tOTSP (my order was cancelled after I said that I didn't waste his time, he could've replied very easily to my questions) On the basis of this experience, I cannot recommend them. It is unfortunate it ended like this, and I hope it can be remedied with an apology.

Some folks suck unfortunately, and while it isn't everyone, the fact is they do exist, and this fella is one of them.

This is what really happened.
Customer wants seeds.
I am sold out.
I say I don't know the stock I have in reserve as I haven't done all the orders. Covid lockdown means we are flat out for the last few days.
If I have reserves I will restock next week after I do all the orders, or failing that I plan to collect more on a roadtrip that is also planned for next week, and if you are on the email notification list as I have explained previously, multiple times, you and everyone else will be notified the very second I restock.

I am flat out, but I still manage to restock as promised, but because I'm so busy the roadtrip doesn't happen.

They hassle me about the seeds again and I say if it isn't in stock then it will be as soon as is possible.
Hassling me again and again just wastes more time and slows everything down.

I was sure I had restocked but not 100% and the week has been a total blur and I just don't have time to stuff around and check.
I mistakenly assumed I mustn't have since they are here a week later annoying me about it again.
Surely not?

I put some of the other scheduled work aside, and focus on greasing the squeaky wheel, then once done I make sure they are notified along with everyone else that is waiting.

That is when I discover they are not even on the bloody waiting list. That is why they were not notified last time I restocked.
All this rushing around and extra work I have done just for them, twice now, was a complete waste of my time.
What they have been hassling me about, has been instock for a bloody week!!!

I tell them this and that I am far from happy with the extra wasted time.
They put in a large order with special instructions.
Then they insult me.

At that point, I immediately cancel and refund their order.

I don't do this business for big $, I do it because I like sharing cool seeds with cool folks all around the world.
That's it.

There are way easier ways to make money than this, but I do it as I kinda reckon its good for the world from an environmental point of view, and it's also super cool meeting passion plant people and supplying them with A1 quality fresh viable seeds of species they can't get anywhere else.
To me that is super cool and it's my main motivator by far.

If ever given the choice I don't sell to folks that are not cool, at all, ever...
I'd much rather be broke.

Because of my great reputation and huge loyal customer base sales is never an issue. My biggest issue is demand for my seeds far outstrips my ability to supply.

By preventing this doofus from purchasing it saves me some grief, and more importantly, it benefits my other customers at the same time. Now someone nice won't miss out on those seeds. :)

Unfortunately for them I guess I am the only person in the world with the species they want which is a bit of a bummer...

They tried threats first, then they tried being all friendly, and now they are back to threats, with a sprinkle of bad reviews and blackmail too.

eh, whatever...

I have no control over their actions, but I do control who I choose to sell to.
They are not my customers and because of their rudeness they never will be again and they should really just accept it and get on with their day.

In response to their review, I can say their first order was much better than they expected, and they thanked me and praised me on the great germination they had, and they said they would tell their friends, and they happily returned to spend several hundred $ again.
So yeah, there's that...

My international shipping is flat rate $40.
This is because it costs me $22-$63 just for stamps. I think this is very fair and I encourage you to check the prices yourself if you have doubts.

The only reason this NZ(not UK like their dodgy profile says)ex-customer is unhappy, is because I dared to get cranky at them stuffing me around, then dared to refused sale when they were rude.

I refuse sale to all that are rude, especially those that waste my time.
I stand by everything I have said and I only wish they had put their own comments in that imgur post as well.
In context, I believe my response to their tedious nonsense is very very reasonable.

You are not welcome in my store going forward and if you choose to spend your time doing your best to hurt my business there is not much I can do about it.
That's your karma.

May you reap what you sow in all aspects of your life.
:)

I am a passionate collector of tropical trees from all around the world and from all seed suppliers this company is the top of the notch. Reliable, honest, fast and safe delivery, high germination rates (If my wife and I didn't screw it up) and bottom standing by all means. We ordered only a few times by now but because of the need of more space and a retirement plan, we are in the final stage to buy a 29 acre farm which we will convert into a food forest and collection. That will be the day we will tic the boxes here at fair dinkum seeds and looking forward how they will boost our collection.

I have ordered seeds many times and have had an excellent experience with this company every time. They have an extensive and unusual range of seeds, with many rare and hard to find edibles, and they provide great info on the plants. All the seeds I have received have been strong and fresh, with good germination rates. Their service has always been prompt, friendly and personal. It's like having an expert local farmer down the road! Highly recommend a browse of their fascinating range.

I've made several purchases from Fair Dinkum Seeds, every time was difficult to choose from their vast variety of strange and wonderful plants. But every package I received was exciting, to not only see the ones I chose but also, to see what extra freebies they included! Ordering, paying and receiving are all easy, fast and professional. I recommend them in my Facebook group and others I'm a member of.

My transaction with this seller was jolly. After throwing away money in a failed purchase from Beautanicals, I gave Fair Dinkum a shot and was well rewarded: the seeds I ordered came quickly and were painstakingly packed (so they survived the journey from Down Under, unlike those sent by Beautanicals that were ground into dust en route); I sowed them and they germinated happily. On top of that, the merchant included a bonus packet of seeds, just for the heck of it I suppose, which I found cute and endearing. The next time I need seeds that aren't available in the US (as was the case with euphorbia peplus), I'll be happy to order from Fair Dinkum.
