So I worked at Tim's Daisy Nursery for a short while in the late 1980s. Good people. It was a bit different. Seemed like Tim treated it like a hobby- business. He loved what he was doing. They did landscaping, supplied landscapers, and then did a fair amount of growing with a good emphasis on the orchids. Oh and they had some parrots too. It was a pretty massive site given the location and was probably worth a great deal even then. I'd guess they owned a full city block. The other impressive thing about the place was the sheer amount of variety he had. Place had just about anything you could imagine. I liked working there, but in the end wasn't fast enough and probably not cut out for farm work.

Unfortunately they have closed down. The nursery was owned by Tim Andersen, a successful landscape architect, and his wife. They had an amazing assortment of begonias and other tropical plants. It was the most magical place with many water features, fish and kitties. Tim had a bad stroke and lived in assisted living for awhile. His wife, sister and son ran things for awhile. Tim has since passed away and somewhere in there they closed shop. They and the nursery are very much missed.

from Union City, NJ I am highly pleased with the mail-order service from Palm Hammock Orchid Estate. Their computer site is a joy to visit with great photos of their wonderful plants. After I emailed my order, I received a very friendly and personable response. I received healthy beautiful plants that arrived in great condition since they were carefully packed with tender loving care. I'm a life-time indoor and greenhouse gardener who mail-orders plants all the time, and Palm Hammock Orchid Estate definitely provides excellent mail-order service. I look forward to placing another order with them again as they have so many new and unusual plant offerings.

from Fort Lauderdale, FL (Zone 10b) This nursery is indeed still around. It is a wonderland to visit. Palm Hammock is one of the greatest source of begonias in the country.

from Valrico, FL (Zone 9a) can't say I asked them about their mail order business but man what an unbelievably nice nursery. Specializes in Begonias and so well manicured. The nicest nursery on my hike down to Homestead this past month.

from Sacramento, CA (Zone 10a) I don't think this is a mailorder business anymore, no emails are ever answered.
