I paid about $320 for my compost tumbler. It works great, but the issue for me was the price. How much compost would you have to make to justify the cost? With mushroom compost deliverable at about $12 per yard, you would have to make 27 yards of compost to break even. That's a lot of compost.
Still, I love my compost tumbler. It works very well, brings the temperature up very quickly and the spinning action very thoroughly mixes it up. After having it and using it for over 5 years, it's still in as good condition as the day we got it and I'm glad I have it.
For someone who makes compost already, this is a real time saver and I recommend it. |
